Week 5 Thing 11

So the site I chose to explore from the Web 2.0 awards was last.fm. I really like this site because it allows you to type in the name of a band you like and then provides you with a list of similar bands that you would probably also enjoy. I typed in my favorite band "the honorary title" and sure enough most of the bands (75%) that came up were also bands I already listen to. I also like that this site list the events or shows in which the band will be playing. In addition, this site allows you to create a profile and share music with others. When I have more time I will probably create one and add all the music I like to it. I also like the fact that you can listen to music on this site. When you type in the band you like the site plays music from other bands that are similar and lets you rate whether you like it or not. I don't really see how this site could benefit the library that much, except maybe in the selection of the purchasing of CDs.
